Bilbao – 09/07/2011

The festival in Bilbao was crowded with people in a good natured atmosphere with the exception, unfortunately, of someone rather violent and racist standing next to us. But fortunately, the Jared’s three steps forward had her moved and allowed us to enjoy the show.
It was going to be the last show in five months for me, so it was greatly appreciated to see the guys enjoying themselves with Jared Leto very enthusiastic, Tomo Milicevic going wild, Shannon Leto merging at times with his drums and Tim Kelleher loosing control on K&Q. There were no surprises at all with the setlist but that’s ok, we know choices must be made in accordance with the festival audience, and Attack, S&D, CTTE and The Kill are an effective force for this kind of shows.
However, there was a big frustration. The show lasted about 50 minutes. This is already kind of difficult to come back down after a show in general but when it feels like it’s over before the end, ouch!
Now, next show is in November in Paris.
The wait is definitely going to be too long… :p

Le festival de Bilbao était bondé de monde dans une ambiance plutôt bon enfant, à l’exception, malheureusement, d’une personne près de nous avec une attitude plutôt violente et raciste. Mais heureusement, les trois pas en avant de Jared l’a déplacé et nous a permis d’apprécier le concert.
Il allait être le dernier show pour les cinq mois à venir pour moi, donc j’ai grandement apprécié de voir les guys d’éclater avec beaucoup d’enthousiasme pour Jared Leto, Tomo Milicevic complètement déchaîné, Shannon Leto fusionnant par moment avec sa batterie et Tim Kelleher perdant le contrôle sur K & Q. Il n’y a pas eu de surprise niveau setlist mais ça va, nous savons que des choix doivent être faits en conformité avec le public du festival, et Attack, S & D, CTTE et The Kill sont une force efficace pour ce type de show.
Cependant, il y a eu une grosse frustration. Le show a duré environ 50 minutes. C’est déjà pas si simple de redescendre après un concert en général, mais quand on a la sensation qu’il est inachevé, aïe!
Maintenant, le prochain show est en novembre à Paris.
L’attente va certainement être trop longue … :p

Rome – 18/06/2011

Considering the circumstances, it wasn’t a bad show. Tomo Milicevic was very present, more than usual and Shannon Leto was still his old self, energetic and good. Jared Leto who was very sick and obviously were asked to cancel the show but didn’t, really did the best he could. He managed to spread an energy that he did find out of I don’t know where. In this kind of situation, it was pleasant to be part of a supportive and encouraging audience. Also, thank you to Antoine Beck from CB7 for supporting Jared Leto on CTTE. It was certainly not the best show but still a good one as everyone really gave everything they had.

Next stop: Bilbao

En vue des circonstances, ce n’était pas un mauvais concert. Tomo Milicevic était très présent, plus que d’habitude et Shannon Leto égal à lui même, énergique et bon. Jared Leto qui était très malade et à qui on a apparemment demandé d’annuler le show. Il a quand même assuré et a vraiment fait de son mieux. Il a réussi à propager une énergie qu’il a trouvé  je ne sais où. Dans ce genre de situation, il était agréable de faire partie d’un public aussi supportif et encourageant. Aussi, merci à Antoine Beck de CB7 d’avoir supporté Jared Leto sur CTTE. Ce n’était certainement pas le meilleur concert mais malgré tout un bon puisque tout le monde a vraiment donné tout ce qu’il était possible de donner.

Paris – L’Olympia – 15/06/2011

There is nothing better than a rock band really enjoying themselves on stage. Even when the setlist is not extraordinary, the band’s craze is so contagious that you have a very good time. That’s what happened with 30 Seconds To Mars at L’Olympia. The setlist was rather for people who don’t know much about the band but still they managed to keep a high level of excitement among the whole crowd, even the “hardcore ones”. Party time you wanted, big party time it was! The highlights of the show:

• Attack, Search & Destroy, The Kill.

• Stage set: A flight of stairs with the triad placed on high ground were Jared Leto could go to make the show.
• Shannon Leto and Tomo Milicevic jamming on Metallica’s Black Album while Jared Leto would pick up people to join them on stage for K&Q.
• A very cool and bruising mosh pit (I’m definitely too old for this now but still have fun^^)
• The announcement of a big french tour (9 dates!)

The hitches:

• At the end of the show, you could quite easily see who really enjoy the show! We looked like hell, all wet and on our last legs. Kinda scary^^

Next stop: Rome

Il n’y a rien de mieux qu’un groupe de rock s’éclatant sur scène. Même lorsque la setlist n’est pas extraordinaire, leur engouement est tellement contagieux que l’on passe un texcellent moment. C’est ce qui est arrivé avec 30 Seconds To Mars à L’Olympia. La setlist était plutôt pour les gens qui ne connaissaient pas le groupe plus que ça mais ils ont réussi à maintenir un niveau élevé d’excitation parmi la foule entière, même les “hardcores”. La fête vous vouliez, la grosse fiesta vous aviez! Les points forts:

• Attack, Search & Destroy, The Kill.
• Le décor: un escalier avec la triade placée en hauteur ou Jared Leto pouvait aller pour faire le show.
• Shannon Leto, Tomo Milicevic et un jam sur le Black Album de Metallica pendant que Jared Leto choisissait des gens à les rejoindre sur scène pour K & Q.
• Un mosh pit très cool mais aussi des ecchymoses (je suis trop vielle pour c’est conneries maintenant mais je me suis éclatée ^ ^)
• L’annonce d’une grande tournée française (9 dates!)

Les points faibles:

• A la fin du spectacle, vous pouvez très facilement voir qui a vraiment profiter du show! On ne ressemblait à plus rien, complètement trempé et sur les rotules. Un peu effrayant ^ ^

Paris – La Maroquinerie – 8/06/2011

It was a privilege to be at La Maroquinerie, Paris on June 8th, 2011 for a special 30 Seconds To Mars’ show. The venue was very small and intimate (less than 500 people).

Though the stage was tiny, it didn’t help the band from enjoying themselves and spread their usual own specific energy. The interaction between Jared Leto and the audience was at its height, almost symbiotic. Also, the little space on stage allowed more synergy between the boys themselves which was pleasant to witness. Besides, we also had a cool setlist. The guys combined the unmissable Attack, ABL, The Kill, K&Q… with the now rare BFM, Oblivion…

But the absolute gem of the night was a thrilling version of NOTH acoustic. Who would have thought this song would keep such a strength without the electrifying sound of guitar or the strong rhythm of the drum.

To make it short, a unforgetable evening! That’s the kind of show that makes you feel like your totally part of it. For about 1 hour and 15 minutes, time stopped to let us dive deep into the MarsMen universe.

Participer au concert exceptionnel de 30 Seconds To Mars à la Maroquinerie à Paris le 8 juin 2011 était un réèl privilège.

La salle était très petite et intimiste (moins de 500 personnes).

Bien que la scène était minuscule, ça n’a pas empêché le groupe de s’éclater et de répendre leur habituelle et importante énergie. L’interaction entre Jared Leto et le public était total, presque fusionnelle. L’étroitesse de la scène a permis plus de synergie entre les membres du groupe ce qui était très agréable à voir. La setlist était sympa aussi. Ils ont combiné les incontournables Attack, ABL, The Kill, K&Q… avec les rarissimes BFM, Oblivion…

Mais la perle de la soirée était la vibrante version de NOTH acoustique. Qui aurait cru que cette chanson puisse garder une telle force sans le son électrisant de la guitare ou le rythme puissant de la batterie.

En claire, soirée inoubliable ! C’est le type de concert où on se sent faire partie intégrante du spectacle. Le temps s’est arrêté l’espace d’une heure et quart pour nous laisser plonger profondément dans l’univers des MarsMen.

Lisbon – 16/12/2010 & Barcelona 18/12/2010

It’s been not easy to write this short review as this is the last 2 dates for me.
Once more the guys gave everything, didn’t let tiredness show and energized the whole crowd. Everybody was jumping, dancing and singing (except a few groups there and then in Barcelona I’m afraid. But if they couldn’t awake with the marsmen, they certainly can never awake anyway) In Lisbon, the atmosphere was very special and everybody was really happy to be there and lived the show at a 100%. It was really intense on Alibi.
In Barcelona, Jared offered an unexpected present: an acoustic of Revenge (just perfect to end the EU tour), Capricorn, B4M, Echelon, Oblivion and it was heart warming to hear people singing all along the whole songs whether they were new or old.

Il n’a pas été facile d’écrire cette courte review comme ce sont les 2 dernières dates pour moi.
Une fois de plus les guys ont tout donné, n’ont pas laisser paraitre la fatigue et ont énergisé de la foule. Tout le monde sautait, dansait et chantait (sauf quelques groupes ci et là à Barcelone. Mais s’ils ne pouvaient pas se réveillent avec la marsmen, ils ne peuvent certainement jamais s’éveillé de tout façon)
A Lisbonne, l’ambiance était très spéciale et tout le monde était vraiment heureux d’être là et a vécu le show à 100%. C’était vraiment intense sur Alibi.
A Barcelone, Jared a offert un présent inattendu: une acoustique Revenge (parfait la fin de la tournée européenne), Capricorne, B4M, Echelon, Oblivion et ca faisait plaisir d’entendre tout le monde chanter sur toutes les chansons qu’elles soient anciennes ou récentes

Bologna – 8/12/2010

Wahoo! What a show. Tomo was just great. He was at a 100% and there was an incredible exchange of energy that is unforgettable.  Shannon played an incredible solo on The Fantasy and the intensity was at its peak! Even though Jared was still sick, he gave everything of himself. You really wonder where he draw such a strength. He needed it us to sing more especially en From Yesterday and Hurricane and it was heart-warming that people played the game.
The audience also went on fire on Attack and The Kill and I thing the band enjoyed the show as much as we did.

Wahoo! Quel show. Tomo était génial. Il était a 100% et il y a eu un échange d’énergie inoubliable. Shannon a joué un solo incroyable sur The Fantasy et l’intensité était à son comble. Bien que Jared était toujours malade, il a tout donné et c’est à ce demander où il puise cette force. Il a eu besoin que nous chantions un peu plus, surtout sur From Yesterday et Hurricane et ca faisait plaisir de voir que tout le monde jouait le jeu.
Le public s’est éclaté sur Attack et The Kill et je pense que le groupe a apprécié le show autant que nous.

Basel – 7/12/2010

The audience didn’t move much except where I was in front rows in the pit where people really had a blast. Jared was sick and a few time I was worried as I thought he really didn’t feel well. Nonetheless, he used the strength of the audience at the front  to sent it back to us and we had a very great time. I was so squeezed where I was standing that  it was quite difficult to see Tomo and Shannon and couldn’t really grab and share their energy. Still, it is a show to remember for Jared who seemed to be in pain but did the show anyway for us.

Le public n’a pas bougé énormément sauf dans les premiers rangs de la fosse où les gens s’éclataient vraiment. Jared était malade et j’étais un peu inquiète car plusieurs fois il semblait ne pas se sentir très bien. Cependant, il a utilisé la force des premiers rangs pour nous la retransmettre et on a passé un bon moment. J’étais un peu serrée où je me trouvais et je n’ai pu vraiment voir Tomo et Shannon. Du coup, difficile d’attraper et partager leur energie. Ceci dit, ca reste un show dont il faut se souvenir pour Jared qui semblait vraiment mal mais à quand même assuré le show pour nous.

Manchester – 4/12/2010

We had a lot of fun, maybe too much as the three of us broke our voices at this show. The audience seemed to really enjoy it too. This time, we were a bit too far to feel and share all the energy the guys had to give us but at least we had all the space to jump and dance like crazy. From where we were, the marsmen looked to also have a very good time.

Nous sommes vraiment bien amusés. Peut-être même trop puisque les 3 personnes que nous étions se sont cassées la voix sur ce show. Cette fois, nous étions un peu trop loin pour ressentir et partager l’énergie que les guys avaient à nous transmettre mais au moins on a eu tout l’espace rêver pour sauter et danser comme des malades. D’où nous étions, il semblait que les marsmen s’éclataient aussi.

Birmingham – 1/12/2010

What a show!
It all started with Enter Skikari who knew how to warm up the crowd, and the audience in the pit really completely lost their mind from then till the end of the 30stm performance. Jared seemed to have totally blew his mind. He caught the crowd energy and sent it back to the power of ten. It was thrilling to get the exchange of  such an extreme craziness.
A funny moment: their were a few snags on the acoustic of From Yesterday. Of course, it was all the fault of the guitar out of tune 😉 I love that!
Shannon’s bowl was back. This is fun because you have a part of the audience that keep quiet and play the game of spirituality and the ones that can’t keep themselves from yelling. It finally turns out to be the anarchy time of Shannon.
This show winked at the first record with Capricorn and Echelon (the whole song please!)on the acoustic.
This show was one of the best I went and there is nothing like an artist that is having good time and share it with no moderation!

Quel show!
Tout a commencé avec Enter Shikari qui a bien su chauffer la salle. Le public dans la fosse a completement perdu la tête dès cet instant jusqu’à la fin de la performance de 30stm.
Jared semble avoir pris son pied. Il a capturé l’energie du public et lui a retourné à la puissance 10.
C’était exaltant de vivre cet échange de folie extrême.
Un moment fun: Il y a eu quelques hics sur l’acoustique de From Yesterday. Biensure, c’était la faute de la guitare désaccordée ;). J’adore!
Le bol de Shannon était de retour. C’était drole une partie du public restait silencieuse et jouait le jeu de la spiritualité alors que l’autre ne pouvait s’empêcher de hurler. Finalement, c’est l’instant anarchie de Shannon.
Ce show a aussi fait un clin d’oeil au premier album avec en acoustique  Capricorn et Echelon ( en entier s’il vous plait!).
Ce show est l’un des meilleurs auquels j’ai assisté et il n’y a rien de tel qu’un artiste qui s’éclate et le partage sans retenue!

London – 30/11/2010

Jared seemed to be very glad to be at the O2 and had fun. The show was quite the same than in Brighton, just in a bigger venue with more lights and confetti as well as a shorter solo on drum on The Fantasy lol!
Tomo was a little bit more distant again but he is certainly exhausted of being touring for more than a year now.
Before the show, the video Hurricane was shown on the big screens.
It was cool to see it this way.
It was good time.

Jared semblait être très content d’être à l’O2 et de s’être bien amusé. Le show était à peu de chose près le même qu’à Brigthon mais dans une plus grande salle avec plus de lumières, des confettis et un solo plus court à la batterie sur The Fantasy lol!
Tomo était  nouveau un peu plus distant mais il est certainement épuisé de tourner depuis plus d’un an maintenant.
Avant le show, nous avons eu sur grand écran la vidéo Hurricane.
C’était très sympa de la voir dans ces conditions.
Ce fut un bon moment.

Brighton – 29/11/2010

Starting back the road trip with this show was just great!
Good mood, very good energy from both the band and the audience.
Tomo recharged and was again more communicative. That was great to have him back a bit more with us.
Shannon was as usual totally into it. His solo on The Fantasy was exhilarating.
This is funny because some things changed and others didn’t.
Closer To The Edge still got the success and peps up people right at the first note until the last No No No No!! and in another hand 100 Suns no longer gets the crowd choirs. Too bad.
Jared said that he had been sick for 2 days but if he didn’t told we couldn’t have guessed it a second. He seemed to have fun and his performance was good.

Commencer ce nouveau road trip avec ce show était super!
Bonne humeur et très bonne énergie du groupe comme du public.
Tomo était rechargé et à nouveau plus communicatif. C’était cool de l’avoir à nouveau un peu plus avec nous.
Shannon était comme d’habitude  à fond dans sa batterie. Son solo sur The Fantasy nous a vaiment emballé.
C’est drôle comme certaines choses peuvent changer et d’autres pas.
Closer To The Edge a toujours autant de succès et requinque tout le monde dès la première note jusqu’au dernier No No No No!!. En revanche, 100 Suns n’obtient plus les choeurs du public. Dommage!
Jared a dit qu’il avait été malade pendant 2 jours mais si il ne l’avait pas signifié, on aurait pas deviné. Il semblait s’amuser et sa performence était bonne.

Budapest 13/08/2010

Last night, the guys made their job with smiles and interacted with the crowd to have them done their part for the film to come.

It wasn’t a bad show but this is the first time that I had the feeling that their hearts were not with us. Maybe they have been far away from their hometown too long and get homesick, I don’t know…

I guess the people who have more interest in “standard” rock show really had a good time.

Personnaly, I missed Mars that night and am glad that they are coming back in November / December for another european leg, hoping to find back what was lost in Budapest and forget about this feeling.

Energy was there but no intensity.

Setlist: Escape, NOTH, Attack, ABL, Search and Destroy, Vox Populi, L490, The Kill, This is War, Closer to the Edge, Kings and Queens.

Pour ce concert, les guys ont fait leur job avec sourire et ont cree l’interaction pour motiver le public a faire leur part du show pour leur film.

Le show n’etait pas mauvais mais c’est la premiere fois que j’ai eu la sensation que le coeur n’y etait pas. Peut-etre sont-ils loin de chez eux depuis trop longtemps et qu’ils commencent a avoir le mal du pays. Je sais pas…

J’imagine que les personnes qui sont plus interesses dans les shows rock “standards” auront certainement vraiment apprecie la prestation.

Personnellement, Mars m’a manque a Budapest et je suis contente qu’ils reviennent en novembre/decembre en Europe, en esperant retrouver ce qui a disparu a Budapest et ne pas rester sur cette sensation.

L’energie etait presente mais pas l’intensite.

Clermont – Ferrand – 30/06/2010

Woo hoo! What an amazing show in Clermont-Ferrand!

Nothing’s better than a small venue when both band and crowd are highly charged.

Enthusiasm reached paroxysm!

Fusion of the huge songs by 30 seconds to mars and the surreal atmosphere transcended the night.

The band opened the gateway to their universe to let us in unreservedly.

We all went crazy and let behind us reality the time of the show.

It’s quite difficult to just pick up a few moments of the show as all of it was epic but we are very grateful for the band’s gift when they decided to play Buddha for Mary and Capricorn full band.

We were then all invested of such an ardour that the energy reached climax. It was a pure exaltation!

30 seconds to mars knew how to motivate the troop, the night was won and what a victory!

Woo hoo! Clermont-Ferrand, un concert incroyable!

Rien de mieux qu’une petite salle lorsque le groupe et le public sont survoltés.

L’enthousiasme a atteint son paroxysme! La combinaison des énormes chansons de 30 seconds to mars et l’atmosphère irréelle ont transcendé la nuit.

Le groupe a ouvert le porte de leur univers et nous a laissé entrer sans aucune restriction. Nous nous sommes tous laissé aller et avons laissé la realité derrière nous le temps du show.

Il est difficile de retirer des moments précis de cette soirée tellement le concert dans son ensemble était épic mais nous some reconnaissants du cadeau du groupe lorsqu’ils ont décidé de jouer Buddha for Mary et Capricorn. Nous avons tous alors été investi d’une telle fougue que l’énergie a atteint son point culminant. C’était de la pure exhaltation!

30 seconds to mars a su motiver ses troupes, la nuit fut gagnée et quelle victoire!

Luxembourg – 27/06/2010

This is the first time I realize that 30 Seconds to Mars really sets the bar very high.

We had Gossip that was good, Kasabian who obviously didn’t give a shit to be at the festival, Jan Delay who gave a lot … etc but none of bands had the capacity to spread so much energy, have it burst it inside to finally lose ourselves in the show the way 30 Seconds to Mars does.

Jared and Shannon were on fire! Tomo might have been tired and kept a bit to himself but was still ok.

The setlist: Escape, Night Of The Hunter, Attack, Vox Populi, Search and Destroy, A Beautiful Lie, L490, first verse and chorus of From Yesterday acoustic, Closer to The Edge (really intense!) , Kings & Queens. And let’s not forget the appearance of Chino (Deftones) on The Kill, fun and good short time!

When Jared asked who wanted to join him to sing, I was shoked as I understood that K&Q was on its way and I had the feeling that we had something like 30 minutes show but no! It had already been an hour. We definitely didn’t get enough but even if it had lasted longer, we couln’t have got enough anyway!

I was really pleased to see that the audience responded to each beat of the songs.

Yesterday, 30 Seconds to Mars exalted its echelon with the performance and certainly converted the others!

Next stop: maybe Clermont-Ferrand, really not sure though and cross fingers! Otherwise, Heineken in Venice.

C’est la première fois que je réalise que 30 Seconds to Mars met vraiment la barre très haute.

Nous avons eu Gossip qui était bien, Kasabian qui semblait ne pas avoir envie d’être là, Jan Delay qui s’est donné à fond…etc mais aucun des groupes n’a la capacité de transmettre tant d’énergie, l’éclater en nous pour finalement se perdre dans le show comme 30 Seconds to Mars sait si bien le faire.

Jared et Shannon ont détonné! Il se peut que Tomo ait été un peu fatigué car il était un peu en retrait mais a assuré malgré tout.

Et n’oublions pas l’intervention de Chino (Deftones) sur The Kill, court moment drole et sympa!

Lorsque Jared a demandé qui voulait le rejoindre pour chanter, j’étais choquée car il me semblait que le show n’avait duré qu’une demie-heure mais non! Ca faisait déjà une heure. On en définitivement pas eu assez mais de toute façon il aurait été difficile d’en avoir pour notre compte même si ca avait durer plus longtemps.

J’ai apprécié de voir que le public réagissait à chaque battement des chansons.

Hier, 30 Seconds to Mars a exalté son echelon de sa presatation et a certainement converti les autres.

Prochain arrêt: peut-être Clermont-Ferrand mais pas sure, je croise les doigts, sinon Heineken à Venise.

Zurich – 23/03/2010

Back from Zurich, the last show of the european leg tour.
We wanted them to end on a high note and they did it!
And it wasn’t a done deal. Not because of the band but because of the audience that didn’t seem to wanna wake up with Street Drum Corps (who were once more excellent by the way) and Car Park North. With the last guest, Jared even decided to show up to help awaking the crowd.

Thirty Seconds to Mars started with no surprise with the usual setlist and performed all songs with energy until L490.
Then, Jared played Hurricane on the acoustic guitar, followed with the first verse of  the cover Message in a Bottle and then “a miracle”: Capricorn, The Mission and Echelon. 3 ST songs in a row, we were on cloud nine!
Second gift of the evening, Stranger in a Strange Land which took us the time of the song in a parallel universe, great feeling.
But the best part was On the Edge of the Earth full band, there we lost our mind!
We were like children finally getting the gift they were longing for so long on a christmas morning day.

To me it was the best show ever on Into the Wild Tour.
You see, you don’t need a big venue, big light nor a hundred of thousand of devices, when all what is needed is 30 Seconds to Mars, especially when they decide to please the echelon. And there you go, somewhere where we are the only one who can access this very unique place.

So, a very big thank you to Thirty Seconds to Mars for this unforgettable night and special gift.
Now, it’s over again, back to reality and forced detox.
Gonna miss the emotion, the sensation and chemical reactions they give us.

Poor timing at work for the festival, so let’s hope they’ll be back again and again quickly…

De retour de Zurich, le dernier show de la tournée europeenne.
Nous voulions qu’ils terminent en beauté et ils l’ont fait!
Pourtant, ce n’était pas gagné avec l’attitude peu éveillée du public sur Street Drum Corps (qui ont été encore une fois excellent) et Car Park North. Avec le dernier guest, Jared a même du monter sur scene pour réveiller la foule.

Thirty Seconds to Mars ont commencé sans surprise avec la setlist habituelle et ont joué les chansons à fond jusque L490.
Ensuite, Jared à joué l’acoustique de Hurricane, suivi par la première partie du cover Message in a Bottle. Là, “le miracle” se produit: Capricorn, The Mission et Echelon. 3 chansons du ST à la suite, nous étions aux anges!
Le second cadeau de la soirée, Stranger in a Strange Land qui nous a transporté le temps de la chanson dans un univers parallèle. Très bonne sensation.
Mais le meilleur restait à venir, On the Edge of the Earth, full band et là on a explosé!
Nous étions comme des enfants qui recoivent le cadeau tant attendu le matin de noel.

Pour moi, c’était le meilleur de Into the Wild tour.
Comme quoi, il n’y a pas besoin de grande salle, de beaucoup de lumières et d’artidices quand le seul besoin se résume à 30 Seconds to Mars. Et spécialement, quand ils decident de faire plaisir à l’echelon, alors il n’y a qu’un pas pour aller à ce lieu unique où seuls nous pouvons acceder.

Un grand merci à Thirty Seconds to Mars pour cette nuit inoubliable et speciale.
Maintenant, c’est à nouveau terminé et retour à la réalité pour une désintoxe forcée.
Ca va me manquer. L’émotion, la sensation et réactions chimiques qu’ils procurent.

Mauvais timing au travail pour les festivals à venir, alors j’espère qu’ils reviendront encore et encore très vite…

Munich – 21/03/2010

It was cool to be back earlier on the road trip. Munich wasn´t planned but couldn´t resist and it was worth it despite the synth that stood right in front of Shannon. It was really frustrating to not being able to capture his energy.

Jared was on fire, good mood and fun. As always, a great performance on Revenge that gives you the thrill.

Tomo was a bit far but each time that I was able to spot him, he was spreading an intense and powerful energy and really exploded on The Fantasy.

No ST songs, too bad, we really missed them. When Jared talked about an old song, I thought we might get Buddha, but no. Nevermind, I guess it was an audience of This is War and the guys might not have had a “proper return” on that song.

Also a very good interaction from both the band and the audience on The Kill.

Where I was standing the audience didn´t especially move a lot but they seemed to enjoy the show and they were really nice people.

In the middle, the crowd seemed to respond as you are supposed to on a rock show.

The setlist didn´t change but it was good time and you never can get enough anyway.

Once more, I really enjoyed the evening with Thirty Seconds to Mars.

Next and last stop in Zurich on Tuesday.

C´etait bon de revenir plus tot sur le RT. Munich n´etait pas prevu mais c´etait dure de resister et ca en vallait la peine malgre le synthe tres mal place qui gachait la vue sur Shannon. C´etait frustrant de ne pas pouvoir capturer son energie.

Jared etait en feu, de bonne humeur et drole. Toujours une tres belle prestation sur Revenge a en donner la chair de poule.

Tomo etait un peu loin mais chaque fois que je le captai, il degageait une intense et puissante energie. Il s´est eclate sur The Fantasy.

Il n´y a pas eu de ST, dommage, ca manque. Quand Jared a parle de vieille chanson, j´ai pense que nous aurions peut-etre Buddha, mais non. C´est pas grave! Le public etait certainement un public This is War et le groupe n´aurait certainement pas eu le retour escompte sur cette chanson.

Aussi, tres bonne interaction entre le groupe et le public sur The Kill.

La ou je me trouvais, le public ne bougeait pas trop mais semblait apprecier le show malgre tout et les gens etait plutot sympas.

Au milieu, j´avais l´impression que la foule repondait comme on est suppose le faire lors d´un concert de rock.

La setlist est restee la meme mais nous avons passe un bon moment et de toute facon, on en a jamais assez.

Encore une bonne soiree passee avec Thirty Seconds to Mars.

Prochain et dernier arret mardi a Zurich.

LILLE – 04/03/2010

The show was amazing, my favorite setlist on this road trip.

Jared´s voice was back and even thrilled us we the acoustic version of Revenge and Hurricane.
The guys were in a very good mood and gave us as a present with the full band version of Capricorn.

Electrical discharge in the atmosphere, the guys were a boost of energy.

Pleased to see that Shannon also wanted the old songs as much as we wanted them when Jared asked the question.

With the full band version of Capricorn and Buddha For Mary the very same night, we have been taken on another dimension.
Very good surprise for the acoustic. We didn’t get A Modern Myth but a perfect interpretation of Revenge and Hurricane.

They also played: Escape, Night of the Hunter, Attack, Vox Populi, From Yesterday, A Beautiful Lie, This Is War, 100 Suns, L490, The Kill, Search and destroy, Kings and Queens.

No doubt that it was the best show I have been to on this tour. Plus, the intimacy of the small venue was priceless.

La voix de Jared etait de retour et nous a même exalté sur l’acoustique de Revenge et Hurricane.
Les gars étaient de très bonne humeur et nous ont même offert la version groupe de Capricorn.
Shock électrique dans l’air, les gars étaient plein d’énergie.

Ca a fait plaisir de voir que Shannon souhaitait aussi de vieille chansons lorsque Jared a posé la question.
Avec la version groupe de Capricorn et Buddha For Mary le même soir, nous avons attéri dans une autre dimension.

Très bonne surprise avec les acoustiques. Nous n’avons pas eu A Modern Myth mais une interpretation parfaite de Revenge et Hurricane.

Not so many people followed the dress code. Only the die-hard ones, I guess.

The venue was half full but the guys were peachy and it didn’t stop the MarsMen from giving us an awesome performance. They managed to awake the most exhausted ones amoung us by the road trip.

La salle n’était remplie qu’à moitié mais ça n’a pas empêcher les MarsMen de nous offire une sacrée performance. Ils ont même réussi à réveillé les plus crévé d’entre nous du road trip.

DUSSELDORF – 06/03/2010

Good performance eventhough I couldn’t enjoy it as I would I loved to due to an uncool audience.But I think the crowd was reactive (can’t be sure as Tomo come forward to the edge of the scene to try and get more reactivities and in the pit it is always quite hard to know how things are really going on).

Jared’s interpretation on the acoustic of Revenge was thrilling, too bad that a bunch of people spent the all time speaking.

Bonne prestation bien que je n’ai pas pu en profiter comme je l’aurais aimé à cause d’un public pas cool. Ceci-dit, je pense que la foule était plutôt réactive (je n’en suis pas sure car Tomo est venu proche du bord pour essayé de bouger les gens et il est toujours difficile de se rendre compte des choses dans la fosse).

L’interpretation de Jared sur Revenge était magnifique. Dommage que des groupes de gens ai préféré passer tout ce temps à discuter.

GLASGOW – 27/02/2010

Another great show!
Jared’s voice wasn’t at the best but he gave himself hard for an awesome show despite the weakness of his organ.
Tomo and Shannon were outstanding. They both ran amok on Buddha For Mary, The Fantasy, The Kill and spread it out over us.

We had a great time! Jared still had some difficulties with his voice but managed to give us an outstanding performance in interpretation and interaction.
Tomo and Shannon are always the ones old selves. Tomo simultaneously diligent and explosive. Shannon always at the best, no matter what.

The hitches: no self title song. Too bad because without it, something’s missing and at Glasgow Buddha For Mary was such a blast that we were expecting such another shot!

Super moment! Jared avait toujours des difficultés avec sa voix mais a réussi à nous donner une incroyable performance dans l’interpretation et l’intéraction.
Tomo et Shannon toujours égalent à eux mêmes. Tomo simultanément studieux et explosif. Shannon toujours au mieux quoiqu’il arrive.

Le point faible: Pas de ST. Dommage car sans, il manque quelque chose. A Glasgow Bouddha For Mary a tellement détonné que nous nous attendions à une autre déflagration!

AMSTERDAM – 02/03/2010

Excellent show! Tomo and Shannon were inhabited by fire and they burnt out the stage.
Jared did what he could with his voice that seemed to sound a bit better than in Brussels but still was able to give us an outstanding time.
The song Buddha For Mary was back and the guy just climaxed.
The crowd really woken up when they played this song even if a lot didn’t know it especially, another proof of the force ot the first album.
Search & Destroyed was epic, we had a blast.

Un show excellent! Tomo et Shannon était en feu et ont incendié la scène.
Jared a fait ce qu’il pouvait avec sa voix qui semblait aller peu mieux qu’à Bruxelles mais nous à encore fait passer un excellent moment.
La chanson Bouddha For Mary a à nouveau fait son apparition et les gars ont décollé.
La foule s’est vraiment réveillée à cet instant bien que beaucoup ne la connaissait pas. Une autre preuve de la force du première album.
Search & Destroyed était épique, on s’est éclaté.

Manchester – 20/02/2010

Just got back from Manchester!

The show was just outstanding and unforgettable.
Lost Alone and Street Drum Corps are definitely the right choice for the opening acts.
The least you can say about these guys is that they know how to warm up the audience. They have a really good energy and know how to rock.

Thirty Seconds to Mars arrival on stage was incisive.
The band started to play Escape while a black curtain was still hung to only drop when the whole crowd shouted out the last words of the song “This is war!!!”. The Marsmen appeared then standing motionless with a warrior posture.

They played Night of the hunter, Attack, Vox Populi with Street Drum Corps, ABL, Search & Destroy, This is War with Street Drum Corps, 100 Suns, L490 (played by Shannon on the acoustic guitar and accompanied by Tomo on the electric guitar and Tim on the bass), the acoustic of Capricorn (Jared played it in the seated section at the opposite of the main stage), (the following 3 songs were played on an other stage put on in the middle of the crowd) The Kill, Fantasy, Closer To The Edge , (back on main stage) From Yesterday, Kings & Queens with Street Drum Corps and people from the audience.

The show was just crazy and intense. The Marsmen spread a powerful and enthusiastic energy that blew us away.

I hope that we (the audience) also met the band’s expectations and responded the way they expected us to but I can say that in the pit, people around me were living it at a 100%.

Now, next road trip will start again next week with Glasgow and for the whole week this time. Can’t wait!

De retour de Manchester!

Le show était extraodinaire et inoubliable.
Lost Alone et Street Drum Corps sont vraiment un très bon choix de premières parties.
Le moins que l’on puisse dire c’est que ces gars savent comment chauffer une salle. Ces deux groupes ont une très bonne énergie et savent comment faire du rock.

L’arrivée de 30 Seconds to Mars était incisif. Ils ont commencé à jouer Escape derrière un rideau noir qui est tombé au moment où la foule s’est mise à crier les dernières paroles de la chanson “This is war!!!”. Les Marsmen sont alors apparus immobiles en posture guerrière.

Il ont joué Night of the hunter, Attack, Vox Populi avec Street Drum Corps, ABL, Search & Destroy, This is War avec Street Drum Corps, 100 Suns, L490 (joué par Shannon à la guitare acoustique et accompagné par Tomo à l’électrique et Tim à la basse), l’acoustique de Capricorn (Jared l’a joué dans la section gradin à l’opposé de la scène principale), (les 3 chansons suivantes ont été joué sur une seconde scène installée au milieu du public) The Kill, Fantasy, Closer To The Edge , (de retour sur la scène principale) From Yesterday, Kings & Queens avec Street Drum Corps et des personne du public.

C’était un concert complètement dingue et intense et les Marsmen ont dégagé une puissance et forte énergie que nous nous sommes prise de plein fouet.

J’espère que nous (le public) étions également à la hauteur des espérances du groupe et que nous leur avons répondu comme ils le souhaitaient. En tout cas, dans la fosse autour de moi, les gens le vivait à 100%.

Maintenant, le prochain road trip est dans une semaine en débutant avec Glasgow et pour une semaine entière cette fois. Vivement!
The show in Paris 18/11/2009 was definitely the best of this road trip. Good interaction with the audience and good energy. The band seemed to enjoy it as much as the crowd.
The thank you note to be hung up in the air right after the first song that we had organized on the french board was a success. A very special thank you to everybody who accepted to play the game and made it possible. I think the guys really appreciated it.
The unexpected and good surprise of the evening was Battle of One.
For the S/T song, we had the acoustic of Capricorn. We desperately asked for Oblivion and Fallen, maybe next time (or not…)

Amsterdam 19/11/2009 was definitely Shannon’s evening. He was the best and all the difficulties of the show didn’t make him bow! He was simply excellent!
A special thought to Tomo who obviously had big trouble with the guitar.
The audience wasn’t at the top either. Tim tried to motivate people with the “choirs” but it wasn’t successful.
A Modern Myth was in the set list that night.

In Berlin 20/11/2009, there was a good energy from the audience and the band. Tomo couldn’t wait to start. He was already jumping while ABL hadn’t started yet.
We had Under Pressure and something like 45 seconds of The Mission (another song that Jared screwed but that’s part of the fun too, so…)

Next stop will be Koln, won’t be there but hope that 30 Seconds to Mars will end this small european tour on a positive note.

Le concert de Paris aura sans aucun doute été le meilleur. Bonne intéraction avec le public et bonne energie. Le groupe semble l’avoir apprécié autant que le public.
Les affiches de remerciements organisées sur le forum français qui devaient être levées juste après la fin de la première chanson ont été un succès. Un remerciement spécial aux personnes qui ont accepté de jouer le jeu et ont rendu cette opération possible. Je pense que les gars ont vraiment apprécié.
L’inattendue et bonne surprise était Battle of One.
Le titre du S/T que nous avons eu est l’acoustique de Capricorn. Nous avons désespérément réclamé Oblivion et Fallen, mais ce sera peut-être pour la prochaine fois, ou pas…

Amsterdam était définitivement la soirée de Shannon. Il a été le meilleur et ne s’est pas laissé démonter par les difficultés techniques du show. Il a tout simplement été excellent!
Une petite pensée pour Tomo qui a apparemment eu pas mal de difficultés avec sa guitare.
Le public n’était pas au top non plus. Tim a essayé de motiver les gens pour les “choeurs” mais sans résultat.
A Modern Myth a fait partie de la set list ce soir là.

A Berlin, bonne energie de la part du public et du groupe. Tomo était impatient de commencer et se mettait déjà à sauter partout avant même qu’ABL ne démarre.

Prochaine arrêt, Cologne. Je n’y serai pas mais souhaite à 30 Seconds to Mars de terminer cette petite tournée européenne sur une note positive.

Milan – 15/03/2009

Yesterday was the first show “to introduce”  This is War and I am back from Milan with mixed feelings.

The highlights of the evening:
-Very good energy from the guys and good mood, even mocking…
-Excellent interaction with the public.
-Was good to hear Kings and Queens and the track This is War live. This is War is just perfect!
-Very good acoustic session (Capricorn and a new song that it is not on the album: excellent!)
-Was good to hear Attack too.

Hitches:
-No other new songs were played. Too much frustration…
-Tomo, Shannon and Tim disappeared for quite a while.
-Good contribution from the audience but too crazy, and the signing part time turned out to be a nightmare due to some very poor attitude.

In hindsight, I am glad to have travelled to Milan to attend the show and I keep in mind the highlights.
But I can’t wait for the next show for me here in Paris on Wednesday. Crossing fingers for a real introduction of the “newborn”!

Le premier show de “présentation” de This is War a eu lieu hier à Milan, et je suis de retour avec des sentiments partagés.

Les moments fort de la soirées:
-Très bonne énergie des gars et bonne humeur, voire moqueuse…
-Très bonne interaction avec le public.
-Première écoute de Kings and Queens et du titre This is War en live super. This is War est tout simplement parfait!
– Très bonne session acoustique (Capricorn et une nouvelle chanson qui n’apparait pas sur l’album: excellentes!)
-C’était cool qu’ils jouent Attack.

Les bémols:
-Pas d’autres nouveaux titres de joués. C’est très frustrant…
-Tomo, Shannon et Tim ont disparu pendant un bon moment.
-Bonne participation du public mais intenable et le moment des signatures s’est transformé en cauchemar du à des attitudes qui laissaient à désirer.

Avec du recul, je suis contente d’avoir voyagé vers Milan pour assister au concert et je garde en mémoire les moments forts. Mais j’attends avec impatience le prochain concert qui pour moi sera mercredi à Paris en espérant un véritable présentation du “nouveau-né”!
